Things we did over homeleave...

*Got the car tuned-up and oil changed and all that stuff.

*Bought and assembled (twice) an island for the kitchen.

*Bought groceries. (You'd be surprised how difficult this is to do in a regular week.)

*Got Shelby a flea dip and a flea collar. It was getting out of control for a while with the scratching. She was keeping us up at night.

*Unpacked and cleaned a lot of our house. We can actually get to the closet in the second bedroom now. It's pretty full. I have a lot of clothes.

*Hung pictures, etc. on the wall. It feels a lot more like home now.

*Rented several movies, about the first time we've done that since we moved here.

*Got paid, woohoo! (And also realized that I'm not making as much less at this job as we anticipated. That is subject to change, I'm sure.)

*Ate at Olive Garden. It's endless pasta bowl time. The most wonderful time of the year. Too bad they won't serve the spinach alfredo sauce anymore.

*Toured Gettysburg. Much more interesting than when I went as a junior in academy. For starters, I actually wanted to learn something this time. Really enjoyed it and the yummy picnic lunch I made. (Superlink salad was included.)

*Went to New York city for the first time ever. Went to Times Square, Central Park and the World Trade Center site. Used the subway. Not as dirty as expected. Ate at a little Italian restaurant near Times Square. Had the pesto fettucini. It was yum. Also had some gelato later. It was awesome. Note: Central Park is amazing. Amazingly huge. Could not find Central Perk. Which doesn't mean it doesn't exist. New York is completely overwhelming. And we only went to Manhattan.

*Chaperoned students back from New York. That was fun on a chartered bus. Trying to get everyone there at the same time. Also, we were a little late. That didn't help. See, the bus schedule said we would leave at 5:30. So we got there at 4:45. We thought that would be good, but apparently not. Next time we'll know.

Now I need to figure out what I'm doing this week in Foreign Foods and start planning English.

Conclusion: I like homeleave. The next one is in three and a half weeks.

Anytime I read the words "Oh how I" I always start to sing them and continue with "love Jesus."

I'm glad I'll be seeing you soon, Ang. :)

meanie. i don't ever remember saying that girlfriends shouldn't come before friendships. after all, it's a very important friendship itself. but in any case, i'm trying to figure something out and i should know something soon :D

i thought my picture of the bean were as cool as real life....

i don't know if my last comment posted...but I said something like..."i don't remember ever saying that girlfriends shouldn't come before friendships, because after all it's a very important friendship itself. and i thought my kidney bean pictures were cool. and i'm trying to figure out a time to visit sometime. and i think you're fun. (that part maybe wasn't there, but retyping my message to you made me remember how much fun you are. i don't know why, it just did."

When did Blogger become like Myspace? Used to be we would have one flow of conversation in one place and another in another. Now I have to race all over the Internet looking for the thing that Justin said that Angela replied to so that I know why Angela said what she said to Justin after he said something to her. See, it's complication at its tricksiest.

I think you're fun, too.

Just to make it more confusing, I'll leave a comment to you here, Ben.

I can't open up the comments on your page. It always looks like it's going to but then it won't. I can open the comments on other people's pages. Just not yours.

Also, I think it's more like myspace because I can't have myspace here, so I just have to do all my commenting here on blogger.

I wish they would let us have myspace, and the students have found way around it, but it doesn't seem right to ask them how to do it. You know?

that would seem ackward (that is the one word that i never quite know how to spell). that's cool that you can pop down to nyc. i'm so jealous. manhattan IS huge, especially if central park can get lost in it. i miss homeleaves. i suppose the term breaks we get here are comparable, but don't seem to get very far in the few days we have.

Here's a tip that was written about in the clocktower for how people get around our firewall. browseatwork.com. use at your own risk, i have no idea how it works, but it seems to load the sites for you so the system can't tell it's loading myspace? now, what if the system sees you using browseatwork? seems like a not-so-great situation. anyway, just a thought. i prefer blogs and email to myspace anyway.

One of the pitfalls of this method: So I just found that message from you today, Ang. Yeah, it's like October and stuff. I'm no good at this.

And I have no idea why it won't let you open up my comments. Is that why you haven't been commenting anymore? I've missed you.

And just now I realized that I'm logged in as you, and so when I leave this comment, it's going to say that you commented it. Hmm . . . Now I must explain why I'm logged in as you.

It's the first time I've done it since I last helped you set up your blog. I wanted to fix the way some text rendered on your page. And, luckily, I have the power to do so. So I came and I did and you'll never know that anything was wrong. It's a beautiful situation. Stealthy.

Except when I leave comments as you. Dangit.

I promise to always only use my super powers for awesome.
