No miraculous mood change yet. When I wake up in the morning I use my light and I feel like I have more energy afterward, but I don't feel particularly happy. I'm not feeling the deep sadness of before either. So I'm just kind of minorly depressed. Which I guess is better.
I got more feedback from my students' surveys. And I felt really good about it. I'm starting to think maybe I should be a teacher. But right now I'm just doing this part time-two classes. I can't imagine teaching full-time. So I guess I still don't know what to do with my life.
I caught Pounce halfway up the Christmas tree the other day. Now we have to watch out for that.
Two weeks from tomorrow Christmas vacation begins. That's a little hard to believe. I have no idea how I've gotten halfway through this school year. And second semester always flies by, so I'm practically done with this year. We're going to Florida for Christmas. Maybe the warmer weather and time with family will do the trick.
It keeps snowing here. It's not accumulating. Probably because of the wind. I guess all the snow we had here is probably down in Virginia by now.
I've gotten up to level 48 on freerice. And I've donated more than 80,00 grains of rice.
And that's about it.

The worse weather's starting to get to me too, in spite of the light. Still not bad--I'm very, very functional, and without the light, I was NOT--but I'm less motivated and just tired of the gray.
Have you played with intensity and how much time? I'm trying to a little, but having trouble with consistency. Some days I use it more time, others more consistency... so I can't see much pattern to it. :)
I'm impressed with level 48! I think I've only gotten to 42. But I haven't played as much as you; I make myself feel better by remembering that. :)
Will you be in Nashville at all over break? It'd be fun to meet up for a game night or something. We'll be there by December 28, hopefully.
I randomly stumbled across this bit of advice today and it made me think of your troubles with Pounce! Try it and let me know how it goes; I'm intrigued...
"Cats hate the smell of citrus- particularly oranges, but lemons work as well. I spray an orange based cleaning product like Orange Clean on my tree. The cats are appalled and will steer clear. You have to reapply every couple of days, but eventually, they will probably steer clear.
Also, make sure there aren’t any ornaments dangling from bottom branches and don’t use that drapey tinsel on your tree. These prove irresistible to cats and they’ll brave the orange scent to be able to play with those items.
The same works well for keeping cats away from any plant you want to keep in the house. Ironically, my cats would NOT stay away from my orange tree when I brought it in this winter and I sprayed the outside of the pot with Orange Clean and it keeps them away."
Carissa-we'll be in Florida for all of Christmas- but I'm sure we'll be there in the summer sometime.
Katie-I haven't tried changing intensity-but my time varies-minimum of fifteen minutes. Today I had a total breakdown and couldn't go to work, so I used it for over an hour.
Laura- I'll have to try the citrus. I've already learned about low hanging ornaments. However, now that she climbs, all ornaments are in danger. Thankfully, I don't have a lot of breakable or irreplacable ornaments, so mostly it's just annoying at this point.
