Adventures
Last week my parents came to visit and we spent about three days in DC. We visited the Holocaust museum, alot of the monuments, the National Zoo, the Museum of Natural History, the US Botanical Gardens, and one of the many art museums. Also, I got closer to the Capitol building than I ever had been before. On Sabbath we attended church at Sligo and then went to the Botanical Gardens, and on the way we saw hundreds of police officers outside around the Capitol. Turns out there was a demonstration by some neo-nazis and some counter-demonstrations. So there were a lot of police there to prevent violence. We saw police with riot gear, on horses, on bikes, on foot, in cars... about any way you can imagine police, they were there.
We had a wonderful time. The weather was beautiful and there were many trees and flowers blooming, although the famous cherries were definitely past their prime. These are some random pictures from our trip.

A little duckling that we fed in the reflecting pool. He was so cute. I really wanted to catch him, but he would have none of it.
The spot in front of the Lincoln memorial where MLK gave his I Have a Dream speech
A Panda at the National Zoo, on loan from China
An Asian elephant. I love elephants, and we got to talk to some of the volunteers there who knew a lot about elephants. =)
Beautiful tulips.
I'm incompetent and can't rotate this picture, but it's my parents near the Washington Monument.

Hello Love! I just got back to Tennessee last night. The weather here is great; everything is green. I did end up going to Washington D.C. after my visit with Ryan in Virginia. My mom flew up Monday night but I went in Monday afternoon. It was raining and chilly but I wanted an adventure. I was wearing a rain coat that worked for a while but ended up getting pretty much soaked. I walked from Union Station down Constitution Ave and got went to see the White House, the Capitol, the Jefferson Monument, the Lincoln Monument, the FDR memorial (this was one of my favorites), the Korean War and Vietnam War and World War II Memorials. I walked around at night too - all the memorials are really beautiful with all the lights. Anyways, then my mom and I went to the Library of Congress -it was a beautiful thing to behold. They had one of 3 perfect Gutenburg Bibles...priceless. And books from Jeffersons personal library. I love books. Anyways, we drove up to the area my parents used to live - the house I lived in for my first two years. There was an older man out mowing the lawn next door - turns out he was it was the same man who lived there when we had. It was such a great area - all the trees were in bloom. We drove up to York and went to Lord of the Dance. My mom was embarassed by me because I was screaming so much - we sat on the second row. It was incredible! We started driving back that night though. We took the Ohio way home so that's 49 states for me!!!
It was so good to see you. You are one of my favorite people ever and Micheal too! Love you.
